The original NF engine had a larger off centre plenum and a lot of trunking down to the air box and fuel distribution unit, and as a result I needed a larger engine cover. Fortunately with the 20v engine this plenum is no more, and with the shortened engine mounts the engine is lower and the amount of extra engine cover required is smaller.
Tonight I started on this cover, although I’d like a new fibreglass lid the budget isn’t available so I’m going with what I consider to be a good alternative. This is a fine metal mesh shaped around the engine and fitted inside the engine cover, filling the old gap.
I’m not finished yet, this is just the first step but hopefully by the weekend it should all be done.
A short update as I’ve now wrapped around the engine bay cut out to disguise some of the lines, I think you’ll agree this look s better.
